She was 82. Born in American Falls, Utah, Mrs. Hicks came to Raymond with her husband in 1901. Mrs. Hicks, who predeceased her several years ago, was Raymond's first t blacksmith. Survivors include three daughters, Lillian and Gertrude at home and Mrs. H. Kleyn of Chicago. The funeral will be hold in Raymond; Bishop G. E. Evans will officiate at the service. Lethbridge Herald February 27, 1958 RAYMOND PIONEER GIVEN LAST RITES RAYMOND - (HNS) - Funeral services for the last member of one of the first families to come to Raymond in the days before it was a town were conducted for Mrs. Gertrude Rolfson Hicks in the LDS Taylor Stake Tabernacle with Bishop Alma G. Evans officiating. Mrs. Hicks came to Raymond in 1 901 as Miss Rolfson to live near her two brothers, O. J. Rolfson and B. F. Rolfson, who both predeceased her. In the year 1901 she married Ephraim Hicks w ho predeceased in his wife 1919. Floral tributes banked the rostrum of the chapel which was filled by members of the family and friends. Invocation was given by Elder Frank R. Taylor. Music under the direction of the ward choir included "Sometimes, We'll Understand" and I know that My Redeemer Lives." Special musical numbers were rendered by a ladies quartet. Herbert Bishop sang the hymn "O My Father." Delbert Oler was soloist for one of the Hymns. Speakers were Bishop Evans, Elder William Jensen and Elder T. George Wood. The benediction was offered by Elder Louis Brandley. Elder L. L. Palmer gave the graveside prayer and the prayer in the home was offered by Elder H. Dean Rolfson. Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased were Dean Wilson, Leonard and Lee Rolfson, Henry and Ellis Piepgrass. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Lille and Gertie at home. Mrs. Hans (ILA) Kleyn of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren and one half-sister, Mrs. Ellen Rolfson of Salt Lake City. Children: Illa Hicks Kleyn 1917-2011 Memorial is 91896946
