Description	:	Mrs. Bernard "Barney" (Gertrude Viola) Rieken, 70, 12151st St. N., died today, Aug. 1, at Hillhaven Convalescent Home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. E. William Kaska, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband March 5, 1981, a brother, Edwin Witte, and three sisters, Bernadett and Evelyn Witte and Francis Bailey. Mrs. Rieken was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The daughter of Peter and Frances Schmidt Witte, she was born Jan. 11, 1915 in Yankton, S.D. She was married April 14, 1936 at Wynot, Neb.
