He married Helen Herrman, October 3, 1949, in Liebenthal. He was employed by the Ellis County Road and Bridge Department for 25 years, and was a WWII Army veteran. Meder, 62, died Friday, April 21, at St. Anthony Hospital. He was born March 9, 1927 in Pfeifer, to George and Barbara (Breit) Meder. He married Helen Herrman, October 3, 1949, in Liebenthal. He was employed by the Ellis County Road and Bridge Department for 25 years, and was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer, and a life member of the Victoria Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, of the home; seven sons, Jerome, Olathe, Terrance, Houston, TX, Tim, Hays, Marty, Albuquerque, NM, Dale, Phillipsburg, Brian, Victoria, and Greg, Quinter; two brothers, Elmer, Lacrosse, and Eddie, Victoria; three sisters, Irene Benda, Lincolnville, and Doris Pfannenstiel and Helen Duay, both of Hays; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tina. Funeral services will be at 10AM Monday at the church with Fathers Gene Emrisek, Michael Suchnicki Clem Neaf officiating; burial in the church cemetery, with military honors by the Victoria VFW. A VFW Rosary will be at 7:30 pm today, followed by a parish wake service and rosary with the Daughters of Isabella joining, at 8 pm, both at Cline's Mortuary, Victoria. Frineds may call from 9 to 9 pm today and from 8 am until service time Monday at the mortuary. The suggests memorials to the Hospice of St. Anthony.
