Description	:	The Clinton Herald Monday February 5, 1951 Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Claussen of Goose Lake were killed about 9 p.m. Sunday in a head-on collision near Dyersville. Also killed was Ralph Orr of Onslow, a passenger in the Claussen car. The passengers in the other car were taken to the hospital with non-fatal injuries. The accident occurred about a mile and a half south of Dyersville on Highway 136, a gravel road. Sheriff Leo Martin of Dubuque told the Associated Press that Claussen's car apparently hit a concrete abutment and then careened into the oncoming Wolfe car. The Claussen's automobile was described as "demolished" while the Wolfe car received heavy damage to the front end. County Coroner Norbert Behr said he has not decided whether to hold an inquest. The Claussen bodies are in the Dalton funeral home, Clinton, and will be taken to the family home Tuesday morning. Funeral services are tentatively planned for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic church, Bryant. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery, Clinton. The rosary will be recited by Father Taylor at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the family home. The body of Ralph Orr is in the Steger funeral home, Dyersville. No arrangements have been made pending word from relatives in California.
