Description	:	December 6, 1927 - September 19, 2007 Funeral services for Gilbert Meyer were held Saturday, Sept. 22, at Friedens Reformed Church, Tripp. Burial was held at the church cemetery with Goglin Funeral Home, Tripp, in charge of arrangements. Military graveside rites were provided by Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142. Gilbert was born December 6, 1927, northeast of Tripp to Adam A. and Anna (Vilhauer) Meyer. Military graveside rites were provided by Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142. Gilbert was born December 6, 1927, northeast of Tripp to Adam A. and Anna (Vilhauer) Meyer. He attended rural grade school in Hutchinson County and graduated from Tripp High School in 1945. He was an Army veteran and served his country from 1950-1952 during the Korean Conflict. On October 11, 1953, he married Betty Lou Fischer. They farmed together northeast of Tripp until 2006 when they relocated to Parkston. He was a member of the Friedens Reformed Church, Friedens Foundation Board, a 12-year member of the Turner Hutchinson Rural Electric Board of Directors and several livestock industry boards and other community organizations. He died Sept. 19 at the Avera St. Benedict Health Care Center at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou; four children, Deborah Pearson and husband, Darry, Racine, Wis., David and wife, Nancy, Elkhorn, Neb., Jacqueline Wentworth and husband, Jim, Stickney, and James and wife, Lisa, Lake Barrington, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Paige Pearson, Green Bay, Wis., Stacy Meyer, Dallas, Texas, Cody Meyer, Lubbock, Texas, Christopher Meyer, Elkhorn, Neb., Anne and Tess Wentworth, Stickney, and Kendall Meyer, Lake Barrington, Ill.
