Description	:	Gilbert Thomas Griffith, 93, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab. He was born on Jan. 28, 1925, in Luray and was a son of the late Harper Gilbert Griffith and Bessie Mae Ellis Griffith. Gilbert was a truck driver for E.N. Hershberger Co. Inc. for 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Morning Star Lutheran Church and the Luray Ruritan Club. He was born on Jan. 28, 1925, in Luray and was a son of the late Harper Gilbert Griffith and Bessie Mae Ellis Griffith. Gilbert was a truck driver for E.N. Hershberger Co. Inc. for 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Morning Star Lutheran Church and the Luray Ruritan Club. On Oct. 14, 1944, he married Doris Phillips Griffith, who died on April 8, 2016. He is survived by a daughter, Pamala Miller and husband Wayne of Luray; a son, Dwight Thomas Griffith and wife Darlene of Luray; a sister, Janice Hoak of Luray; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Griffith; three sisters, Elva Catherine Judd, Mildred Beahm and M. Chloe Miller; and two brothers, Elbert F. and Nelson Page Griffith. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the Morning Star Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Marble, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Morning Star Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors by the Comer-Jones VFW Post 621. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morning Star Lutheran Church’s Cemetery or Building Fund. (Paid Obituary)
