He married Catherine Beck on September 24, 1960. ------------------------------------- Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” January 14, 1963: Guilford Doidge Guilford A. Doidge, 55, of 2311 E. Main St. died Saturday at 6:25 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital. He had been in ill health a year. He was born April 24, 1907, in Missouri Valley, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Doidge. He had been a resident of Ottumwa two and a half years. He and Catherine Beck were married here on Sept. 24, 1960. She survives. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Robert Doidge of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. William Woodward of Omaha, Neb.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jerry Johnson of Ottumwa and several half brothers and half sisters. The service will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel and at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated by the pastor, the Rev. A.U. Hauber. Friends will meet at the funeral chapel at 7:30 tonight to recite the Rosary. Pallbearers will be Clarence Schmidt, Bill Ware, Max Wornock, Vernon Gullett, Roland Roberts and Robert Fisher.
