Gilman dedicated his life to taking care of and providing for his family. He was an affable and gregarious personality, and was well known in the Katahdin Region and beyond. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rita M. (Guerette) St. Peter of Millinocket; six children, Claudette Tardy and her husband Glen of Millinocket, Harold St. Peter and his wife Mary Ann of Millinocket Lake, Charlotte Purcell and her husband Michael of East Millinocket, Tom St. Peter of St. Petersburg, Florida, Pamela Bye and her husband Dan of Maple Plain, Minnesota, and Marsha Northway and her husband Mike of Savannah, Georgia; a brother, Norman St. Peter of Guerette; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Romeo, Lawrence, Lillian, his twin sister Gilmay, Winnie, Orilla, Lucy, and Robertine. Private interment will be at the East Millinocket Cemetery.
