Chipman, mother of Mrs. Marsh Bunting, passed away at the Bunting home Monday, March 15 at the age of 77 years. She was born in Ohio, February 21, 1841, and when 11 years old moved to Benton county, Iowa, with her parents. On the fourth day of January, 1864, she was united in marriage to M. S. Chipman. Of the nine children born to this union four have passed to the great beyond. Orlan, Annie, James, and Blanche. Mr. Chipman died May 5, 1906. The surviving children are Frank and George, of Griffin, Canada; Mrs. Mary Miller, of New Westminister, B. C.; Mrs. Julia Brand, of Glidden, and Mrs. Marsh Bunting, of Carroll. Mrs. Chipman and her husband first located in Carroll county in 1879 where they lived until 1892 when they moved to Pocahontas county, Iowa. In 1903 they moved to Griffin, Canada, for a short time but after the death of her husband, Mrs. Chipman has spent most of her time with her daughters: Mrs. Bunting, of Carroll, and Mrs. Brand, of Glidden. She was a life long member of the United Brethren Church and was fully prepared to die.
