She died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Nye Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fremont. She was born Aug. 4, 1905, in Genoa to Levi and Emma (Oijerholm) Newell. She grew up in Genoa and was a 1922 graduate of Genoa High School. She was manager of Nebraska-Kansas Light Company in Genoa. She married Larry Wentzel on March 19, 1927, in Omaha. She was born Aug. 4, 1905, in Genoa to Levi and Emma (Oijerholm) Newell. She grew up in Genoa and was a 1922 graduate of Genoa High School. She was manager of Nebraska-Kansas Light Company in Genoa. She married Larry Wentzel on March 19, 1927, in Omaha. After her marriage, she managed a Singer Sewing Machine Store in Seattle. The couple then moved to Canada, where they farmed. They moved to Fremont in 1937. She worked at the former Perkins Printing Co. and also worked at the Dodge County Courthouse before the war. She worked at the Scribner Air Base during World War II. She worked as a bookkeeper in the family business, Wentzel Motors in Fremont, and also managed the office until 1955. Her husband died Dec. 12, 1968. Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Brown of Columbus and Patricia (and husband, Gene) Olson of Elkland, Mo.; four grandsons, Michael (and wife, Susan) Olson of Virginia, Stephen (and wife, Elaine) Olson of Hawaii, James (and wife, Jessica) Olson of Fremont and Robert (and wife, Jane) Olson of Texas; seven great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Larry Jr., five brothers, four sisters and an infant great-grandchild. The Rev. John Plowman will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Hooper Cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
