Services are 2 p.m. Friday at St Paul Lutheran church in Minden with the Rev Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be in Minden Cemetery. She moved with her family to St Joseph, Mo. Her mother married Jack White. Mr White adopted the children. They moved to Minden when she was a freshman in high school. She graduated from Minden High School in 1939. On Feb 14, 1942, she married Donald William Berndt. They lived in Illinois, California and Arizona while her husband served in the U S Navy. In 1945 they returned to Minden. They owned and operated Berndt Pharmacy. They retired in the early 1980's. She was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church and its ladies' groups. Survivors are her husband; one son, Donald II of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Donna Rehtus of Minden; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers.
