Description	:	GLADYS ANN RIGBY 1909-2008 Gladys Ann Rigby died Monday, June 23, 2008 at a local nursing facility. Aunt Gladys was born October 2, 1909 in Oak Grove, FL. She lived in the home she was born in until January 2007, when she became a resident of Atmore Nursing Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Women's Missions and Choir. Read More	GLADYS ANN RIGBY 1909-2008 Gladys Ann Rigby died Monday, June 23, 2008 at a local nursing facility. Aunt Gladys was born October 2, 1909 in Oak Grove, FL. She lived in the home she was born in until January 2007, when she became a resident of Atmore Nursing Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Women's Missions and Choir. The church named the Mother's Day Offering for the Florida Baptist Children's Home in her honor in 2007. She spent most of her time at home working in her flower beds and sewing on her treadle "Singer sewing machine" making items for the "old folks" at the nursing home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse "Lee" and Evie "Babe" Rigby; six brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one brother, J.D. Rigby of Oak Grove, FL and one sister, Evie Elizabeth Hall of Pensacola, FL; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Jonah McIntyre and the nurses and staff of Atmore Nursing Center for the loving care and compassion Aunt Gladys received while she was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Oak Grove Cemetery Association, 4350 Gobbler Rd., Century, FL 32535. Services will be Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 3 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Chewning and Rev. Keith Langham officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, FL. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Rigby, Adam Rigby, Chad Rigby, Randy Rowell, Joey Darby, and James Lee. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., Atmore, AL, is in charge of arrangements.
