GLADYS LUDTKE Aberdeen American News (SD) - Wednesday, June 13, 2001 Webster --- Gladys Ludtke, 87, of Webster, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Bethesda Home of Webster. Gladys Johnson was born Nov. 22, 1913, to Oscar and Olivia (Olson) Johnson on the family farm north of Webster in Webster Township, Day County. She attended District No. 103 country school and graduated from Webster High School. She worked as a clerk in the Day County Treasurers Office. She married Ernest Ludtke on Sept. 17, 1943, in Webster. He was in the service during World War II. After their marriage he went overseas and she lived in Sacramento, Calif., where she was employed as a clerk in a government office. In 1946, they returned to the Webster area and made their home on the Ludtke family farm southeast of Webster in Morton Township. They moved into Webster in 1998, and she entered the Bethesda Home of Webster in June 1999. She was a member of American Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide, circle, and for many years was a soloist and sang in the church choir. Survivors include her husband of Webster; two daughters, Sharon (Daniel) Sullivan of Casper, Wyo., and Joanne (Gerald) Ducker of Webster; one brother, Ernest Johnson of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Edith Mickelson of Webster; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers. Casketbearers will be James Ducker, Jason Ducker, Lyle Berg, Duane Senneseth, Rolfe Ludtke and Wayne Johnson.
