Description	:	The usual happiness of the New Year's season was interrupted on Sunday afternoon when Mrs Gladys Davenport Bristow died at the Chamberlain hospital in Rockwood. She had been in declining health since the middle of October, and has been attended constantly by her husband, Clinton Bristow, and her mother, Mrs G W Davenport. Her remains were brought to Crossville Sunday night to the home of her parents until time for the funeral at 1:30 Monday afternoon. Mrs Bristow was widely known throughout the county, being 35 years of age on New Year's day last. She had an enviable record as a teacher and a public spirited woman. Since her 12th birthday she has been a member of the Southern Methodist Church. She was married on June 16, 1929 to Clinton Bristow of Grassy Cove, and has made her residence there since that time.
