She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Roy Spain, a daughter, Sue Johnson, a sister, Janet Carter and a brother, Preston Lowery. Read More	Gladys Lowery Spain, 90 of Smackover, AR, passed away Sunday, September 04, 2016, at the Courtyard Health and Rehab in El Dorado, AR. Mrs. Spain was born August 1, 1926 in Junction City, AR to the union of John Purdom Lowery and Annie Mae Smith Lowery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Roy Spain, a daughter, Sue Johnson, a sister, Janet Carter and a brother, Preston Lowery. Mrs. Spain was a retired LPN having worked at the Smackover Clinic. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smackover and Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Spain will be remembered as a devoted caregiver and for her generosity. Survivors include her two daughters, Marilyn Harris of El Dorado, AR, and Beth Sheridan of Smackover, AR four sisters, Barbara Parks, Jane Spruill, Laverne Bowden and Judy Corley all of Smackover, AR one brother, John Lowery of Camden, AR, five grandchildren, Andrea Tantillo and husband Marcus of Dickinson, TX, Jennifer Kimble and husband Joseph of Palestine, TX, Jeff Sheridan of Palestine, TX, Lauren Harris of Jacksonville, AR, and Greg Harris and wife Cassandra of Maumelle, AR, six great grandchildren, Azalea, Carlos, Greyson, Brayden, Ella, and Olivia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016, 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Smackover. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Carley Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Smackover.
