Lee, 97, a resident of North Turner, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feruary 15, 2018, at her home in Turner, with her loving companion, Forest Hammond, and dog, Max, by her side. She was born in Turner on July 27, 1920, the daughter of Albion Brackett and Cynthia (Leavitt) Brackett. Gladys was educated in the Turner schools and was a graduate of Leavitt Institute. Lee, 97, a resident of North Turner, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feruary 15, 2018, at her home in Turner, with her loving companion, Forest Hammond, and dog, Max, by her side. She was born in Turner on July 27, 1920, the daughter of Albion Brackett and Cynthia (Leavitt) Brackett. Gladys was educated in the Turner schools and was a graduate of Leavitt Institute. On July 31, 1945, in Portland, she married Clarence S. Lee. He passed away in 1968. Gladys worked for many years as a loom operator at Bates Manufacturing Co. Following her retirement from Bates, she worked picking and packing eggs at DeCoster Egg Farm in Turner until she retired at age 90. She always enjoyed working hard, eating out, working in her garden and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Sonny Lee, and wife Lorna, of Turner; her daughter, Debra Ladner, of Gardiner; her sister, Nora Brackett, of Turner; grandchildren, James Irish and wife Sheila, Kevin Irish and wife Jocelyn, Angela Lee and companion David Camara, Lori Lee and companion Matt Sennett, Kimberly Marston and husband Ryan, Roger Levesque and fiancee, Melissa Burnham, all of Turner; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughters, Joyce Irish and Glenice Levesque; sons-in-law, James Irish and Emile Levesque; brothers, Albion Brackett Jr. and Frank Brackett; sisters, Ruth Dailey, Ada Pulsifer and Perliss Bracken. The family would like to give a special thanks to Stephens Memorial Hospital and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
