Gladys Bunsness was born January 23, 1915 at Aberdeen, SD to Peter E. and Amanda A. (Grotbeck) Bunsness. She grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1933. In August of 1938, she was united in marriage with Berger C. Dahl. The couple moved to Sioux Falls in 1953. Berger preceded her in death in November of 1956. Gladys Bredeson, 103, of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Touchmark at All Saints in Sioux Falls. Gladys Bunsness was born January 23, 1915 at Aberdeen, SD to Peter E. and Amanda A. (Grotbeck) Bunsness. She grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1933. In August of 1938, she was united in marriage with Berger C. Dahl. The couple moved to Sioux Falls in 1953. Berger preceded her in death in November of 1956. On July 12, 1964 she was united in marriage with James B. Bredeson in Sioux Falls, SD. Together, they built and owned Bredeson Construction Company in Sioux Falls. Jim preceded her in death on July 19, 2003. Gladys continued to live in Sioux Falls after his death and was most recently a resident of Touchmark at All Saints. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, David Dahl of Edina, MN, John B. (Barb) Dahl of Sun City, AZ, Judy (William) Rhodenbaugh of Stillwater, MN, Joyce (Jay) Hubner of Yankton, SD, and Karen Lidel of Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roland Bunsness; her sisters, Gertrude Bunsness and Eleanor Docken; a son, Steven Mark Dahl; stepson, James Bredeson; son-in-law, Alan Lidel; daughter-in-law Phyllis Dahl; granddaughter, Katherine Ann Dahl and a great grandson, Jackson Lidel. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the wonderful, loving care that our mother received while living at Touchmark. The family wishes memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Memorial services will begin 11:00 am Saturday at Christ the Victor Chapel of First Lutheran Church. Private interment will be in Hills of Rest Cemetery. - Miller Funeral Home
