Description	:	Gladys Mills Dixon, 93, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 4 PM at Pinewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Dixon, daughter of the late Lewis Augustus and Lillie Buck Mills, lived her entire life in the Black Jack community. On October 28, 1938, she married James Lester Dixon, who after 65 years of marriage preceded her in death on February 19, 2004. She also experienced the loss of her only child, Peggy Dixon Hardee, who passed away on June 19, 2001. Gladys graduated from Chicod High School in 1937 at the age of fifteen.... She also experienced the loss of her only child, Peggy Dixon Hardee, who passed away on June 19, 2001. Gladys graduated from Chicod High School in 1937 at the age of fifteen. She spent her life farming with her husband, caring for her family, and participating in many church activities. She had been a member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church since October, 1943. She was a member of the adult choir for many years along with singing with the Ladies Trio and later on with the Black Jack Quartet. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Prince Augustus Mills; and two sisters, Ethel Mills Haddock and Alice Mills Elks. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Melanie Hardee White and husband Eddie; grandson, Jason Ray Hardee and wife Jill; and four great-grandchildren, Braeden White, Kinsley Tate White, Kyle Hardee, and Blake Hardee. She is also survived by her former son-in-law, Ray Hardee and wife Connie; nephew, Jesse Lee Mills; four nieces, Marietta Elks, Shirley Haddock Williamson, Barbara Haddock Porter, and Merlene Haddock Beachum; and a brother-in-law Morris Elks. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
