Description	:	Gladys Lucille Graham, 84, formerly of Sylvan Woods, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Kirksville, Mo., to Thomas Everett and Katherine Blanche Dodson. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1944. She married John "Jack" Keith Graham St. Sept. 8, 1946. Gladys worked at John Morrell and Company. She also worked for the Ottumwa Hospitals from 1968-99. Read More	Gladys Lucille Graham, 84, formerly of Sylvan Woods, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Kirksville, Mo., to Thomas Everett and Katherine Blanche Dodson. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1944. She married John "Jack" Keith Graham St. Sept. 8, 1946. Gladys worked at John Morrell and Company. She also worked for the Ottumwa Hospitals from 1968-99. Her jobs included working at St. Joseph Hospital as an EKG Tech and continuing at ORHC ofter the purchase of St. Joseph in 1987. She finished her career at the hospital in the Lifeline Department. She had also worked for H&R Block. She enjoyed bowling on a women's bowling league for several years and enjoyed many out-of-state tournaments. She did volunteer work for the Ottumwa Hospital Auxiliary until 2009. She was always willing to help whoever had a need. She also enjoyed her flower garden and making afqhans for her family. These last years her cats were her company and joy. Survivors include her sister,"Sis" her best friend, Margrette(George)Beall and a niecce, Georgia Lynn(Bruce)Mountain, both of Florida; two sons, John "Jack"(Linda)Graham Jr. of Ottumwa and Charles"Chuck"Graham of Georgia; four grandchildren, Jennifer(JD)Bonner, Darren(Cindy)Graham, Chuckie(Janine)Graham and Charlie(Jodie)Graham; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex Graham, Jesse Bonner Jr., Nora, Cody, Amy, Jordan Graham and Tommie Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1983; her parents; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Henry Earl, Raymond Everett, Thomas Ralph and Gerry Dodson; and a grandson, John Scott Graham. Gladys has struggled with Wegener's Granulomatosis for the last nine years. She has met each new complication (and there have been many, including kidney disease)with courage and determination. Graveside services will be 11 am Saturday at Shaul Cemetery; Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Visitation family present will be 7-8 pm this evening at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Wapello County, Ottumwa, Iowa.
