She was preceded in death by her loving husband Garfield F. Backley, her daughter, Rita M. Lauer and her son, Frederick C. Backley. She is survived by her son Floyd D. Backley; her daughter-in-law, Doris B. Backley; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ for over 60 years. The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, with burial following at Peninsula Cemetery. The service will conducted by the Rev. Larry Jones of Northside Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Christian Church.
