Valentine, 39, 429 Monroe Avenue, who died Sunday morning at her home from the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Home for Funerals by the Rev. E. G. Brinkmeyer, First Congregational Church pastor. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery memorial section with the following serving as pallbearers: Leo Napier, Ed Berg, Herb Wintz, Harold Eucker, Raymond Ohian and Ed Harmel. Mrs. Valentine, whose maiden name was Gladys Marie Hash, was born Oct. 27, 1907 in Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hash. She was 2 years old when her parents moved to Battle Creek. She came to Norfolk in 1922, and had since resided here. She was married in 1935 to Merritt A. Valentine and to them one son, Deon was born. Surviving are her husband, son, two brothers; Rex and John, both of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Everett Morris, also of Norfolk. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Clarence.
