Gladys Marie Noack was born March 26, 1933 in Carthage, South Dakota, to Robert Kludt, Sr. and Elsie (Zeeck) Kludt. She grew up in rural Alpena and attended country school. She was a nurse’s aide at Huron Regional Medical Center for 6 years before meeting Siegfried through mutual friends. Gladys married Siegfried Noack on May 24, 1957. They began their 61 years of marriage on a farm near Artesian where they raised their four children. Together they raised cattle, hogs, chickens, and grew crops. Gladys was a loving wife, homemaker, and her hard work contributed to the success of the farm. After 56 years of building a life together on the farm, Gladys and Siegfried retired from the farm life and moved to Mitchell. Gladys spent her retirement years growing flowers, playing cards (very competitive!), baking (always had your favorite pies, cakes or bars), putting together puzzles, and spending time with the grandkids. Gladys is survived by her husband, Siegfried; four children, Wayne (Darcy) Noack of Miller and children Gabrielle and Gavin; Cindy (Terry) Torgerson of Mitchell and children PJ (Meghan) and Danielle (Jeremy); Keith (Janice) Noack of Vacaville, CA and children Jorden (Jake) and Taylor; and Jannn (Kurt) Dickson of Cavour and children Nicholas, Courtney (Weston), Brady, Elisebeth, Noah and Hannah; and 5 great-grandchildren: Emmett, Harper, Lily, Henley and Aiden; three sisters-in-law, Queenda (Robert) Kludt, Marilyn (Marvin) Kludt; and Ruth (Noack) Lemon and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Robert, Jr., Elmer, Calvin, Marvin and Max (Doc) Kludt; and sisters, Hazel Johnson and Laura Jones. - Bittner Funeral Chapel ——————————————— Her sister, Hazel’s obituary: Johnson, Hazel E. (Kludt) 83, of Minneapolis, peacefully passed away Monday, June 15, 2009, at Catholic Eldercare in Minneapolis. Hazel was born September 6, 1925 to Robert Kludt and Elsie (Zeek) Kludt in Huron, South Dakota. Hazel was the oldest girl in a family that eventually totaled 8 children. She had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She was the proud mother of 5 children, Kim, Carol, Lon, Julie and Dennis. She had 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Hazel's passion was cooking, she was absolutely in her element when she was the head cook at Covenant Pines Bible Camp in McGregor, MN. There she was able to fulfill many dreams and ambitions, being responsible for feeding a lot of hungry kids, her caramel rolls were legendary, being able to live by a lake and being a participating member of the Covenant community. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elsie; three brothers, Calvin, Marvin and Elmer and 1 grandson, Curtis. Hazel is survived by her children, Kim, Carol, Lon, Julie and Dennis; 5 grandchildren, Sean, Christopher, Rebekah, Genevieve, Hayley and Matthew, and 3 great-grandchildren, Sharayah, Olivia and Paige. Her celebration of life was held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 18th at the Congregational United Church of Christ. Memorials may be directed to the HRMC Community Hospice. Laura Marguerite Kludt Jones was born October 9, 1927, in rural Huron, South Dakota, to Robert Kludt, Sr. and Elsie Zeeck Kludt. She grew up in rural Huron and attended country school. Laura married the love of her life, Howard D. Jones June 15, 1946. They lived on a farm near Alpena where they raised their six children. They were avid supporters of the Alpena School where their children attended. After Howard's death in 1981, Laura moved to Huron where she became a "working woman" outside the home. Her first job was at Tot Town, followed by cooking positions at SunQuest Village and Huron College. After retiring, she began volunteering at James Valley Christian School where her granddaughters attended, her church, Huron Area Senior Center, and Huron Regional Medical Center Auxiliary as a Pink Lady. She logged over 5000 volunteer hours at the hospital in 17 years and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2010. Laura was a member of the Huron Congregational United Church of Christ since 1983, and the Owen-Kunze Post 116 American Legion Auxiliary since 1963. She embroidered quilts and gifted each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a quilt. Laura was devoted to her family and recently wrote: "I love my God, my kids, my church and my country. I like to read, especially American history and biographies and true stories. I like new cars and desserts." Laura is survived by her children, Judy (Harvey) Preble of Eagan, Minnesota, Jeannie (Ordean) Heitmann of Aberdeen, Douglas (Carol) Jones of Alpena, Kathleen (Jon) Wibbels of Yankton, Robert (Christy) Jones of Fargo, North Dakota and (Laura) Yvonne (Mike) Brosnan of Huron; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys (Siegfried) Noack of Mitchell; three sisters-in-law, Queenda (Robert) Kludt, Doris (Calvin) Kludt and Marilyn (Marvin) Kludt; and nieces and nephews.
