Description	:	Gladys M. Ehly of Omak, Washington passed away suddenly February 9, 2004 at Central Washington Hospital at age 92. Born Gladys May Watson, she was the eldest daughter of Methow Valley pioneers Ethalbert and Nora (Nickell) Watson. She was born near Princeton, BC on July 7, 1911. Around 1915 the young Watson family, which by then included daughter Helen, returned to Twisp, Washington. They lived on the original Watson homestead for several years before purchasing their own ranch on Beaver Creek. Gladys attended school at the Beaver Creek School. Born Gladys May Watson, she was the eldest daughter of Methow Valley pioneers Ethalbert and Nora (Nickell) Watson. She was born near Princeton, BC on July 7, 1911. Around 1915 the young Watson family, which by then included daughter Helen, returned to Twisp, Washington. They lived on the original Watson homestead for several years before purchasing their own ranch on Beaver Creek. Gladys attended school at the Beaver Creek School. On November 22, 1928, she married Cecil Jellison; two daughters were born of that marriage. On November 9, 1939, she married the "love of her life" and "soul mate," Harry P. Ehly in Wenatchee. Gladys and Harry always told the story of waltzing down the streets of Wenatchee on their wedding day. While Harry was away in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Gladys and their family of five children returned to Twisp to await his return. Harry and Gladys moved their young family to Omak in 1946 after his discharge. Gladys loved many things in life -- gardening, quilting, embroidery, even playing pool but most of all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry in 2002; her parents, Ethalbert and Nora Watson; sister, Ferol Watson Potter; and three sons-in-law, Bill Reimer, Bob Mahaffey and David Bump. Surviving Gladys are her children, Mae Reimer and Nita Mahaffey both of Wenatchee, Washington, Barbara and Chuck Hughes of Moses Lake, Washington, Albert and Elisa Ehly of Memphis, Tennessee, and Ellen Bump of Anchorage, Alaska. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Krinke of Twisp, Washington; 9 grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Until we meet again, Mom, God bless and keep you. We love you. Funeral services will be held on February 18, 2004 at the Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel on Elmway at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Omak City Cemetery (Omak Memorial Cemetery). Visitation will be held at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel on February 17, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
