She passed away on July 30, 2008, at the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 12 days. She grew up on the family farm near Ong and graduated with the class of 1933 from Ong High School. She was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church. After graduation, she worked at various jobs, which eventually led her to Lincoln, where she would continue to work until her marriage. She met Richard Nunns during World War II, while he was on leave in Lincoln. They corresponded during the war for four years and upon Richards return from Europe, they were married on February 2, 1946. To this union two children were born: son, Keith and daughter, Lila. They continued to live in Lincoln until 1950, when they moved to their farm in Fillmore county, where they lived until Richards death in 1991. Gladys then moved to Geneva and maintained her residence there until for health reasons, she became a resident of Heritage Crossings in Geneva. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed attending her grandchildrens activities and watching them grow into young adults. Gladys enjoyed living on the farm and always had a big garden and loved to cook and entertain guests. She enjoyed traveling and attending local events with Richard, and continued after his death with a very special group of ladies. She valued her friendships with these ladies over the years. Gladys was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She received her 75-year pin from the church in May, of 2003. She was an active member of the Geneva Community Grange, the Chelsea Womens Club, Kensington and Chelsea Cemetery Association. She also enjoyed activities with the Ambassador club, Silver Eagle Club and the York Fun Club. She is survived by her son, Keith Nunns and wife Pamela; daughter, Lila Oestmann and husband Dennis; grandsons Jeff Nunns, and Brent Nunns; granddaughters, KaDee Nunns; Tara Dodge and husband Justin; Jenna Oestmann, great-grandson, Jared Dodge; sisters-in-law, DeVee Anderson and Helen Nunns; Bernice Anderson Doris Willadsen and Lucy Pollack, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband Richard, her parents, brothers, Melvin, Royal, Paul and Floyd Anderson and her sister Dazel Beebe,preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist church in Geneva on August 4, with Pastor Chris Lake officiating. Sondra Myers accompanied Sue Rickert who sang Precious Lord, Take My Hand and Just a Closer Walk with Thee. Casket bearers were Robert, Dale and Larry Nunns, Rolland, Rodger and Eugene Anderson. Honorary casket bearers were Jeff, Brent, and KaDee Nunns, Tara and Justin Dodge, Jenna Oestmann and Jared Dodge. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal August 2008
