Description	:	Mrs. Edward Hornik Dies at Age of 24; Interment Here An untimely death which brought deep sorrow to a host of relatives and the entire community, took the life of a young wife and mother, Mrs. Edward Hornik, who passed away early Tuesday morning at the home of her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hornik, one and a half miles west of Verdigre. She passed away at 5:30 o'clock and she was 24 years of age. Funeral services will be conducted in Verdigre today, Thursday, at one o'clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. She passed away at 5:30 o'clock and she was 24 years of age. Funeral services will be conducted in Verdigre today, Thursday, at one o'clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. She is survived and deeply mourned by her husband, Edward Hornik and a two month's old son, James; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Sorensen of Neligh; three brothers, John, Virgil and James of Neligh; her grandfather, Martin Sonder of Verdigre and a grandmother, Mrs. Christina Sorensen of Holt county, also by a host of other relatives and many friends. Born in Holt county, Gladys Sorensen came to this community with her parents about three years ago and it was on Sept. 7, 1837, when she was married to Edward Hornik at O'Neill. A dutiful wife and mother, a lover of her home and with uncompromising help to her family and her friends, the death of Mrs. Hornik came far ahead of life's allotted span before the unyielding reaper and a promising life, dedicated to the old aid and welfare of her loved ones, is no more. ...The Verdigre Eagle 1937
