Description	:	The Recorder June 2, 1977 Mrs. Gladys Viola Rexrode, 76, of the Parkwood Apts., Staunton, died Saturday evening, May 28, at King's Daughter's Hospital. Mrs. Rexrode was born Sept. 22, 1900, in Highland County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ida Bowers Eye. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Her husband, Joe C. Rexrode, preceded her death, Jan. 30, 1956. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Viola Sheffer and Mrs. Peggy Mauzy, both of Staunton , and Mrs. Dorothy Faught of Churchville. Mrs. Rexrode was born Sept. 22, 1900, in Highland County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ida Bowers Eye. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Her husband, Joe C. Rexrode, preceded her death, Jan. 30, 1956. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Viola Sheffer and Mrs. Peggy Mauzy, both of Staunton , and Mrs. Dorothy Faught of Churchville. Also surviving are two sons: Lee Roy Rexrode, Staunton, and Howard J. Rexrode, Verona; a sister, Mrs. Lona Rexrode, Blue Grass; two brothers, Richard Eye, Franklin, W.Va., and Alfred Eye, Akron, Ohio; a step-mother, Mrs. Louie Eye, Falls Church; and a step-son, William Rexrode of Staunton. Other survivors include 8 grand children, 4 great-grand children, and 2 step-grand children. Mrs. Rexrode was preceded in death by daughters Sylva Gray and Margaret Rexrode; sons Alfred and Ernest Rexrode; step-daughter Mrs. Mary Sheffer; and step-son Roscoe Rexrode. A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. James Tongue. Burial was in Rexrode family cemetery at Strait Creek.
