Adams, was born in Pleasanton, Nebraska in 1896, on October 1st. She departed this life in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday, December 16th, 1959. Read More	Thanks to contributor #47028758; Mrs. Glaydes Adams Gard Pleasanton---Mrs. Glaydes Adams Gard, daughter of Phoebe Darling Adams and Elmer E. Adams, was born in Pleasanton, Nebraska in 1896, on October 1st. She departed this life in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday, December 16th, 1959. At the time of her departure she was 63 years 2 month and 15 days. The father, Elmer will be remembered by many as the local carpenter who in the pioneer days served the Pleasanton community as builder, carpenter, and contractor. Under the direction of Elmer Adams, many of the present homes and other buildings of present day Pleasanton were constructed. Gladys completed the schooling as the provided by the local public school, the 10th grade. She appreciated music and for some time served the community as piano teacher in the field of music. She also was interested in the work of a beautician, was trained in this field, and served hersisters in this manner for several years. Some 25 years ago, she met Roy F. Gard, and soon was his bride. For most of her life, Gladys has lived in or near Pleasanton. A little over 3 years ago, she with her mother and husband moved to Fort Scott, Kansas; and just recently they moved to Pittsburg, Kansas where she passed away. Gladys leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Roy F.; her mother, Mrs. Phoebe Adams; several cousins and distant relatives. Services were held in the Pleasanton E.U.B. church at 10:30 Saturaday morning. Burial was in the Pleasanton cemetery with Neilson Mortuary of Kearney in charge with Rev. Albert R. Murdock officiating
