Born Dec. 23, 1916, near Wayland, he was the son of Peter W. and Emma Graber Richard. On Aug. 31, 1938, he married Margaret Mae Wenger, at her home north of Wayland. Rev. Richard farmed for many years near Wayland and served as a pastor for the Mennonite Church. Read More	Glen Richard, 94, of Mount Pleasant died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at SunnyBrook of Ashford Park in Mount Pleasant. Born Dec. 23, 1916, near Wayland, he was the son of Peter W. and Emma Graber Richard. On Aug. 31, 1938, he married Margaret Mae Wenger, at her home north of Wayland. Rev. Richard farmed for many years near Wayland and served as a pastor for the Mennonite Church. He was a member of the Extension Committee at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, and helped reopen the Pleasant Point Church in Oakland Mills and opened a new church in Mount Pleasant which became Pleasant View Mennonite Church. He was ordained in 1958, installed as pastor serving until 1978 and served as interim pastor of congregations in Arthur, Ill., La Junta, Colo., Donnellson, Trenton and Salem, before retiring in Mount Pleasant. He attended courses at Goshen College, Eastern Mennonite University and the Billy Graham School of Evangelism. He was known for his concern for the spiritual wellbeing of those he knew and ministered to the needs of people in the community and in the church. His passion was evangelism. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Wesley Richard of Goshen, Ind., Duane Richard of Ocala, Fla., and Lynn Richard of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Gloria Graber of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
