Read More	SOURCE: MIDLAND TIMES……JANUARY 2, 1998….PAGE 6 GLENN "BUTCH" POWERS December 5, 1931 - December 26, 1997 Glenn "Butch" Powers, 66 of Wyoming, Iowa died Friday, December 26, 1997 at his home in Wyoming, following a sudden illness. Butch was born December 5, 1931 at Anamosa, the son of Ray and Wilma Wells Powers. He attended the Anamosa schools and in 1947 entered the United States Army. He was stationed in Okinawa, and was discharged in 1949. On December 12, 1950 Butch married Florence Osterkamp at Anamosa. Butch worked for the Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Plant at Cedar Rapids and later at Clinton Engines at Maquoketa. He and Florence later divorced. Butch was a Wyoming resident since 1974. Butch is survived by two daughters, Karen, Mrs. Mike Pavne of Oskaloosa and Kathy Mull of Marion; one son, Keith Powers and wife Jan of Pomeroy; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara, Mrs. Robert Northrup of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and Phyllis Wilken of Monticello; and two brothers, Darrel Powers of Denver, Colorado and Dean Powers of Manchester. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two grandchildren. Butch enjoyed his pets and spending time in his garden. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa. Military graveside services were conducted by the American Legion Wyoming Post #259 of Wyoming.
