He was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Eldon to Glen and Carrie Reva Ellis Marshall. He married Helen Irene Carman July 3, 1943. She preceded him in death Dec. 31, 1991. A veteran of World War II, Glen worked for John Morrell and Co. and 31 years for John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1982. Surviving are two sons, Gerald(Karen)Marshall of Morris, Ill., and Ronald(Linda)Marshall of Bloomfield; a daughter, Brenda(Jerry)Arnold of Bloomfield; 12 grandchildren, Rodney Marshall, Lucinda(David)Brooks, Robert Marshall, Kinberly(Eric)Long, Tamara(Richard)Peart, Lorel(David)Ritter, Lisa(Wendell)Wiley, Jason Bridgeman, Jared(April)Bridgeman, Regina(Cory)Closser, Aaron(Tonya)Bridgeman and Shania Arnold; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Deloris Marshall of ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Daniel Bridgeman; a great-granddaugher, Ariel Marshall; and a brother, George Marshall. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Alma Lanferman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B.Nelson Post 3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will begin at 11 am Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 pm Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Southeast Iowa Blood Center.
