Description	:	Glen M. Osborn, 89, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. Glen was born Jan. 1, 1919, in rural Dundy County to Orlando and Freda (Gunther) Osborn. His mother died when he was five years old and his father died five years later. His Uncle Ora and Aunt Agnes took him and his sisters in and cared for them. When he was 16, he decided he wanted to farm. He found his planter sunk in a lagoon and a neighbor loaned him a horse so he could get his first crop planted. In 1940, he married Vivian Bradley.... Read More	Glen M. Osborn, 89, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. Glen was born Jan. 1, 1919, in rural Dundy County to Orlando and Freda (Gunther) Osborn. His mother died when he was five years old and his father died five years later. His Uncle Ora and Aunt Agnes took him and his sisters in and cared for them. He never talked much about his childhood until his granddaughter, Erin interviewed him for a college project. Following that he was interviewed on the NPR show "All Things Considered." Glen was a member of the Benkelman United Presbyterian Church. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Elva and Edna; and granddaughter, April Osborn.  Survivors are: wife, Vivian Osborn; son, Jim and wife, Lynne of Benkelman and their children; daughter, Glenda Campbell of Lincoln and her family; and a host of relatives and friends. Interment was in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, NE.
