Detra Harris on July 4, 1914, in Butler county near Clarksville. He received his education in Clarksville Schools. Detra Harris on July 4, 1914, in Butler county near Clarksville. He received his education in Clarksville Schools. On February 24, 1936, Glen was united in marriage to Margaret Stewart in the parsonage of the Commmunity Church in Clarksville. They farmed near Clarksville, until retiring and moving to their present home in 1976. Glen was an active member of the Community Church having served on the church board and ushered for many years. He was also an active member of the Clarksville Odd Fellows Lodge and had served as a Past Noble Grand. Glen especially enjoyed his family, wife, children, grandchildren, and his many friends. At 11:54 P.M., Monday, July 13, 1992, Glen died at Allen Memorial Hospital from kidney and heart failure. He reached the age of 78 years and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Glen is survived by: his wife, Marnie Harris, Clarksville, IA; two sons, Robert Harris and his wife, Mary Alice of Beloit, WI, and Dale Harris and his wife, Margaret, of Clarksville, IA; four daughters, Glenda and her husband, Eugene Lensing, Nashua, IA, Marian, and her husband, Gary Pursell, Waverly, IA, Norma, and her husband, Robert Garrett, Shell Rock, IA, Marjorie and her husband, Dale Hanson, Northfield, MN; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and one brother, Lyle G. Harris, and his wife, Jeanette, of Waterloo, IA. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 1992, in the Community Church in Clarksville with Rev. Gary Garretson officiating. Mrs. Lola Clark was the organist and the congregational hymns were: "Amazing Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross", and "How Great Thou Art". Honorary Casketbearers were: Don Davis, Lloyd Miller, Clarence Fenneman, Bob Boyd, and William Skinner. Casketbearers were; the grandsons, Stephen Harris, Scott Harris, John Harris, David Lensing, Mike Lensing, Jim Lensing, Larry Lensing, Richard Pursell, Ryan Hanson and Mark Hanson. Interment followed at Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Iowa. At 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 15, 1992, the Odd Fellows Service, was held at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, Iowa, which was also in charge of the funeral arrangements.
