Services for Kay will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard, Iowa. There will be a visitation for the public one hour prior to the service, starting at 10 a.m. Glenda Kay Wendling was born in Dundee, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Velma (Theel) Wendling, on May 13, 1940. She graduated from Earlville High School in 1958. On May 30, 1960, she married her husband, Raymond Forsyth, in Oelwein, Iowa. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Oelwein, but spent most of her years working for the USDA in Fayette and West Union, Iowa. Kay farmed with her husband in the Maynard, Iowa, area until his death in 2002, when she moved to Maynard. She loved bird watching, gardening, reading, camping, traveling, playing cards and games, doing jigsaw puzzles and attending blue grass or country music shows. Kay especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. She is survived by her sons, Dan (Kathy) Forsyth of Oelwein and Jeffrey (Lisa) of Fayette; her daughters, Christine (Jim) Rasmussen of Hazleton and Rhonda (Chris) Kappmeyer of Maynard; her grandchildren, Shane (Amanda McLaury) Kappmeyer of Oelwein, Kira (fiance, Adam Roberts) Kappmeyer of Hazleton, Devin Kappmeyer of Fayette, Austin Forsyth of Manhattan, N.Y., April Forsyth of Iowa City, Katelyn Forsyth of Oelwein and Kayla, Chelsea and Brady Forsyth, all of Fayette; her great-grandchildren, Kamryn Kappmeyer of Oelwein and Brynn Roberts of Hazleton; her brothers, Jerry Wendling of Earlville and David Wendling of Littleton; and her sister, Jaunita Heitter of Oelwein. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and her parents.
