Born in Westport Point, she was the daughter of the late Andrew A. Taber and Helen G. Taber. Glenda had a great desire for learning and reading. She graduated from Hyannis Teachers College, and taught at many schools in Westport and Dartmouth. She was also the Town of Westport Librarian from 1963-1967. (Taber) Broadbent, 95, of Westport Point, died Wednesday April 2,2014 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Walter P. Broadbent. Born in Westport Point, she was the daughter of the late Andrew A. Taber and Helen G. Taber. Glenda had a great desire for learning and reading. She graduated from Hyannis Teachers College, and taught at many schools in Westport and Dartmouth. She was also the Town of Westport Librarian from 1963-1967. Glenda is survived by her loving children: Lois Allen and her husband Fran, Meredith Leach and her husband Brian, Andrew Broadbent and his wife Robin; and 4 loving grandchildren: Wendy Taylor, Andrew Sherman, Ashlen and Drew Broadbent. Arrangements are under the direction of Potters Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road Westport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home, 200 Hawthorn street New Bedford, Ma. 02740.
