Description	:	Glenis was born the youngest child of Senator Albert A. and Lois (Booth) Fenske on August 4, 1925 at home in Sunol, NE. She attended grade school and high school in Sunol. After high school graduation, she attended secretarial school in Chillicothe, OH and then returned to Sunol. Glenis married William H. “Bill” Behrends on January 18, 1947 when he returned from his military duty in World War II. The couple lived in Sunol until 1948 when they moved to a farm southwest of Lodgepole where Bill and Glenis lived for the next 68 years. To this union,... Read More	Glenis was born the youngest child of Senator Albert A. and Lois (Booth) Fenske on August 4, 1925 at home in Sunol, NE. She attended grade school and high school in Sunol. After high school graduation, she attended secretarial school in Chillicothe, OH and then returned to Sunol. Glenis married William H. “Bill” Behrends on January 18, 1947 when he returned from his military duty in World War II. The couple lived in Sunol until 1948 when they moved to a farm southwest of Lodgepole where Bill and Glenis lived for the next 68 years. To this union, six children were born. Glenis was a popular, outgoing, loving mother and wife. Family was Glenis’s life. She transformed herself into a country farmwife. She raised six children and learned to drive tractors and move irrigation pipe with her family in tow. She and Bill traveled extensively during the winter when they became empty nesters. Their travels took them to the Caribbean Islands, Panama Canal, around and through South America, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, China, Istanbul, Singapore, Bali, Italy, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Glenis was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. There is so much more to our mother than can be put into words! She is loved and will be greatly missed.
