Description	:	Glenn E. Shockley 1910-1997 Glenn Edward Shockley, 87, of Wheatland, died there at Platte County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. He was born April 27, 1910, in Skidmore, Mo., to Charles Sumner and Rose (Moody) Shockley. He had also lived in Louisiana and California as well as in Wyoming. He had lived in Wheatland since 1992 with prior residence in Chugwater. Shockley graduated from Gaynor High School in Missouri. Read More	Glenn E. Shockley 1910-1997 Glenn Edward Shockley, 87, of Wheatland, died there at Platte County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. He was born April 27, 1910, in Skidmore, Mo., to Charles Sumner and Rose (Moody) Shockley. He had also lived in Louisiana and California as well as in Wyoming. He had lived in Wheatland since 1992 with prior residence in Chugwater. Shockley graduated from Gaynor High School in Missouri. He worked for Vincent Utter, Smalls and the Chevrolet Garage in Wheatland and for the Torrington Livestock Commission from 1941-1975. He bought the Darst Ranch in 1946. He retired in 1979. He had also worked on ranches in Wyoming and on a pipeline in California. On March 10, 1941, he married Ova Norris in Gering, Neb. He was a past member of the Chugwater Historical Group. Shockley is survived by his wife, Ova Shockley of Wheatland; three children, Sumner Shockley of Wheatland, Georgia Higgins of Laramie and Dixie Stanfield of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billy Shockley on April 20, 1980; a brother, John Shockley; and a grandson, Marty Shockley. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First Christian Church in Wheatland with Minister Andy Gudahl officiating. Private interment will take place in Wheatland Cemetery. The Platte Funeral Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of arrangements. October 6, 1997 Wyoming Tribune-Eagle
