He was received into Holy Baptism Jan. 1, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk by Rev. Car Juergenson. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Day School and was confirmed in the Christian faith in 1950 by Rev. Walter Synatsch. Glen attended Polk High School and graduated in 1960. Read More	Glenn Edward Dobberstein (as printed in the Polk Progress 10-9-1969) Glenn Edward Dobberstein, son of Edward and Bernice (Rau) Dobberstein was born at the York Hospital December 8, 1942. He was received into Holy Baptism Jan. 1, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk by Rev. Car Juergenson. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Day School and was confirmed in the Christian faith in 1950 by Rev. Walter Synatsch. Glen attended Polk High School and graduated in 1960. He was a member of the Walther League. He then attended the Universal Trade School in Omaha in 1961. Glenn returned to Polk and lived with his parents, where he farmed and fed cattle with his father. He was president of the Polk County Feeders Ass’n., 4-H member for 11 years, 4-H leader for 8 years, a Junior member of the Farmers Coop elevator board of Polk, member of the County 4-H Council. On Thursday, Oct. 2 he met with a serious tractor accident on a road north of Polk. He passed away later in the afternoon at the Osceola hospital. He reached the age of 26 years, 9 months and 24 days. He leaves to mourn, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dobberstein; grandmother, Mrs. May Dobberstein of California; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rau of Polk; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Kreft officiating. “Jesus Lead Thou On”, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”, and “Nearer My God To Thee”, were sung by Dick Mundt, Elmer, Kenneth and Sherman Wilshusen. The organist was Arlan Warneke. Pallbearers were Frank Ostrander, Gaylord Stevens, Ted Gleim, Leon Meerkatz, Arvin Marlatt and Gaylord Dose. Glenn Dobberstein 26 Succumbs To Injuries In Tractor Accident Glenn Dobberstein 26, succumbed at the Osceola hospital, October 2, of injuries received earlier in the day when the tractor he was operating tipped over and pinned him underneath. At the time he was hauling hay with the stack mover, and was bringing in the last stack when the accident occurred on the county road, 6 miles north and ½ east of Polk.
