On Dec. 15, 1950, he married Anna Lay in St. Charles, Mo. She died Feb. 21, 1999. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired in 1976, after having worked many years with the city of Fort Madison. Survivors include nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
