Description	:	Glenn H. Henderson, formerly of rural Beresford, died at Avera Trauma Care September 12th, 2010 following a fall earlier in the week. Funeral Service will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, September 15th at the Methodist Church in Beresford with burial at the Beresford City Cemetery. Visitation will Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM with family present from 6PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford. Born second of six sons to Orsie and Emma Sanwald Henderson on March 25, 1921 in Loup City, Nebraska, Glenn grew up near Scotland, SD and graduated from High School in 1939. Following a four-year WWII Army tour in the Philippines, Glenn married Alma Fuerst of Kaylor, SD in January 1946. Together, until Almas death in 1992, they farmed and raised their family west of Beresford. After moving to town, he established Henderson Motors and sold used cars until he retired and sold the business. In 2001, to be closer to senior services and care givers, Glenn moved to Sioux Falls where he met and remarried Violet Erickson, also formerly of Beresford and now residing at Waterford at All Saints assisted living community. Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Doug (Joan) Henderson, Randy Henderson of Beresford, Rod Henderson of Tea, Scott (Holly) Henderson of Vermillion and Carol (Mike) Fischer of LeMars, Iowa; and his stepsons Dale and Steve Erickson of Beresford. Glenn is also survived by fifteen grandchildren (five with spouses) living in many different states; and by five great grandchildren with many more to come. Glenn genuinely enjoyed selling cars, especially cadillacs, and visiting with anyone and everyone who stopped in at his shop at the four-way stop. His sense of humor was legendary and served him well until health issues forced him to retire. Glenn also loved to bowl and golf. His scores often won the day regardless of opponents age. Grandpa Glenns favorite hobby though was following the adventures of Justin and Rod in the Outlaw and 360 sprint races. Preceding him in death were his wife of 45 years, his parents and brothers Alvin and Ray Henderson. He is survived by brothers Loren Henderson of Vermillion, Elmer (Iva) Henderson of Rapid City and Dick (Bess) Henderson of Liberty, Missouri. [Courtesy: Wass Home for Funerals]
