Born in Giles County on May 1, 1939 he was a son of the late Robert Bernard and Louvenia Carter Hamblin. He had been employed at Buddys Auto Body Shop and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-five years, Charlene Jennelle Hamblin, a sister Addie Rose, and a special grandmother Grace Carter. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dewayne Campbell and his granddaughter Devin Campbell all of Forest; stepchildren, Trenda Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pa., and K. J. Keyton of Roanoke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, R. B. and Alice Hamblin and Tuck and Betty Hamblin all of Pembroke; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ella Rhea Hamblin and Patricia and Landon Saferight all of Wytheville. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in The Hamblin Family Cemetery at Bear Spring near Pearisburg.
