The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements. Glenn Paul Woodke was born on May 12, 1921 to John H. and Adella C. (Hase) Woodke in Schaller, Iowa. He attended school and graduated from Schaller High School in 1938. On September 6, 1942, Glenn was united in marriage to Betty Jeanne Voyles. To this union, three children were born: Roxy Jeanne, Becky Rae and Scott Reed. Glenn proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Engineer Corp, where he served from 1944 – 1946 WWII ETO. Over the years, Glenn was an active member of the Schaller VFW, Hup Tu, American Legion, Amvets, Order of Easter Star, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Abu Bekr Shriners, and was Mayor of Schaller, Iowa. Glenn cherished time spent with family and friends. Some of his joys were swimming, diving, fishing, making homemade wine, football and baseball (coached Junior Legion team and took them to state for 2 years). Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 plus years, Betty of Schaller; his children: Roxy Buck and husband Tom of Schaller, Iowa, Becky Dolphin and husband Corky of Cascade, Iowa and Scott Woodke and wife Vilma of Schaller, Iowa; five Grandchildren: Nicolle Botcher and husband Steve of Alta, Iowa, Mark Murphy and wife Tracy of Johnston, Iowa, Glennda Woodke of Colorado Springs, Co., John Woodke and fiancé Taya of Colorado Springs, Co., and Kelly Murphy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four Great-Grandchildren: Ryan Sawyer, Jake Sawyer, Kayla Sawyer all of Alta, Iowa, and Nyah Rose Woodke of Colorado Springs, Co. Sister-in-law Virginia Freeman of Fonda, Iowa, Brother-in-law Lonnie Voyles of Galt, Ca.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Frank, Everett, Walter and Wilber; his in-laws; three sisters-in-law: Micky Voyles, Helen Woodke and Clara Grotjohn; and three brothers-in-law: Wayne Freeman, Vernon Grotjohn and Lewis Voyles.
