Description	:	Glenn Richard Taylor was born August 11, 1909 to parents William and Mattie (Cottril) Taylor of Skidmore, Missouri. He went to the Albright Country School, a mile east of the home place and graduated from Skidmore High School in 1928. He ran a small truck freight line in Skidmore and later purchased a freight line in Maryville. Glenn married Mary Lu Medsker on November 12, 1938. Glenn and Mary Lou started housekeeping in Maryville where Glenn's truck business was located. To this union was born one son, Gary Glenn in 1941. He went to the Albright Country School, a mile east of the home place and graduated from Skidmore High School in 1928. He ran a small truck freight line in Skidmore and later purchased a freight line in Maryville. Glenn married Mary Lu Medsker on November 12, 1938. Glenn and Mary Lou started housekeeping in Maryville where Glenn's truck business was located. To this union was born one son, Gary Glenn in 1941. In April of 1941, Glenn and Mary Lu moved back to Skidmore where Glenn worked in the Skelley Station. Later on Glenn did more trucking and custom farm work for others. In 1943, when Glenn's folks retired and moved to Skidmore, Glenn moved back to the home place two miles north of Skidmore. In 1960 they moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, where Glenn was a cattle buyer for the Shenandoah Livestock auction. In 1963 Glenn purchased a sale barn in Stantion, Iowa. He and his partner operated the sale barn for eight years. In1973, Glenn and Mary Lu moved back to the home place north of Skidmore and retired. Born in Skidmore, he was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge here. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lu Taylor of the home in Skidmore; one son, Gary Taylor, Maitland; three sisters, Alta Roberts, Maryville, Maude Hart, Branson, and Mildred Landfather, St. joseph, and four grandsons. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the Johnson Funeral Home, Maitland. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, Mo.
