Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Church (formerly the Associated Church) in Hawarden, with Rev. Howard Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Hawarden American Legion and VFW. Hodgson was born October 31, 1920 in Sioux County, Iowa near Hawarden, the son of Guy and Marie (Whittington) Hodgson. He was baptized in the Presbyterian faith. Glenn attended a rural school in Buncombe Township, Sioux County, Iowa and graduated from the Hawarden High School in 1938. Glenn served our country as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force for four years in World War II. He then returned to the family farm until retiring in 1984. Glenn married Adele Landon, of rural Beresford, in 1948, and to this union were born two children. In 1984, he married Jewel Dycus of Las Vegas, Nevada, where they continued to spend winters after his retirement. Glenn was a lifelong member of the Associated Church, and a member of the American Legion and Past Commander of the VFW of Hawarden. He enjoyed wood working, traveling, and spending time with his family. Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Jager and her husband Robert of Hawarden; one son, Gary Hodgson and his wife Pam of Chehalis, Washington; and three grandchildren, Angela Jager of Chaska, Minnesota, Melissa Falde and her husband Nathan of Prescott, Wisconsin, and Jodi Hodgson of Chehalis, Washington.
