Description	:	Glennie Mae Wiley Snyder, age 85, of 112 Sunflower Drive, Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 8, 1920, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Albert Lee Wiley and Crystal Zimmerman Wiley. She was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Harwood Snyder, whom she married in 1943. Born Nov. 8, 1920, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Albert Lee Wiley and Crystal Zimmerman Wiley. She was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Harwood Snyder, whom she married in 1943. She was a member of the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church of Big Pool, where she served as the organist for many years. She was a graduate of the Clear Spring High School class of 1937. Glennie worked in the Big Pool Post Office upon graduation and was secretary to the sales manager at New York Central Iron Works from 1938 until 1943. She transferred to Hagerstown Equipment Company, working as the secretary and bookkeeper until 1945. In 1968, she went to work at Bester Long Inc., as secretary and bookkeeper until retirement in 1981. She was past treasurer of the Washington County Homemakers Bowling League. Glennie was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Snyder and wife, Nancy, of Mercersburg, Pa., and Donald Snyder and wife, Audrey, of Reading, Pa.; three daughters, Marilyn Whittington and husband, Robert, Kathy King and husband, Ken, and Tina Marie Snyder, all of Hagerstown; a sister-in-law, Bessie Wiley of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Leo Wiley and Woodrow Wiley. Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, Big Pool. The Rev. Scott Summers will officiate. Burial will be in the Shanktown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service.
