Description	:	MRS. CHARLES CLAFLIN Mrs. Charles W. Claflin, 88, lifetime resident of the Douds community, died Friday evening, Feb. 25 at the Van Buren Memorial hospital in Keosauqua. She had been a patient at the hospital since Feb. 14. Last rites were Monday at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick funeral home in Douds with the Rev. G. Basil Tadlock in charge. Burial was in Leando cemetery. Gloie M. Claflin was born July 11, 1877 near Douds, the daughter of Thomas C. and Anna M. Schaeffer Plowman. She was married Feb. 22, 1899, to Charles W. Claflin who preceded her in death in 1940. Mrs. Claflin is survived by one brother, Harley Plowman, Birmingham, and two nieces who made their home with Mrs. Claflin, Helen and Letha Plowman. She is also survived by another niece and two nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
