She was born February 23, 1939 just outside of Mount Laurel, VA to the late Kelsie O. Fallen and Linnie Richmon Fallen. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1956 and then attended the Grace Hospital Nursing Program from 1956-1957. She also won Miss Southern States in 1957 and worked at their main office for the next four years until going to work for Mitchell Wiggins & Co. whom she was employed with for over 51 years. Gloria loved traveling. She traveled every summer and had visited 48 states, as well as third world countries where she showed her granddaughter just how lucky we are. Gloria also greatly enjoyed bowling, and has participated in numerous bowling leagues throughout the years. She is survived by her daughter, Susan; and three grandchildren, J. Ryan Dunevant, Tyler L. Dunevant and Kelsie Meygan Crockett. Gloria loved and appreciated life. She was one of a kind and the kindest person you could have ever known. Mom, you will be missed; a part of my heart has died with you. Ladies, ovarian cancer is serious. Please get yourself checked. No one should watch a loved one suffer from this silent killer. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 27th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA with burial following in Washington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home, and again 10-11:30 a.m., Monday, prior to the funeral service.
