Goodman, 91, of East Wenatchee, WA, was welcomed into heaven Sunday, September 18, 2016. Born Gloria Dawn Rundell on November 12, 1924, in Camas, WA, to Earl F. Rundell (originally Rundel) and Mary Helen Rundell; Gloria was the first born. She had a younger brother, Robert “Bud”, who she was especially close to, as well as a half-brother, Marshall “Ted” Olson, born from her mother’s second marriage. Gloria grew up in Cosmopolis, WA, with her brothers, later attending Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, WA. In Aberdeen, Gloria met her husband, Wayne W. Goodman, and they were married there on December 20, 1941. They made their first home in Cosmopolis, WA. In 1949, they moved to Manter, KS, to become wheat farmers. It was in Kansas that Wayne and Gloria first met the Lord and were saved in a small Baptist church, attending church faithfully ever since. In 1954, they moved to the Wenatchee Valley and resided here for 62 years. Wayne and Gloria were married 72 years before Wayne passed away February 3, 2014. They were blessed with six children, along with 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Family life with the Goodmans was full of fun, laughter and plenty of good food! Gloria was known as the best cook. There were innumerable family get-togethers with her cooking as the highlight. Gloria also enjoyed reading, canning, quilting and pinochle. She especially enjoyed the many friends she made in her later years playing pinochle on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with the seniors. Gloria leaves behind her children: Bob (Julie), Gary (Gean), Darrel (Elaine), Dawn (Richard), Mary (Jerry) and Gus (Dina), and all their families. While those of us left behind will miss her terribly, we know that her passing has reunited her with many of her loved ones as well as her Savior. We cannot count the lives touched by her presence, those who have passed and those of us who remain. Gloria’s legacy was her faith in God, her devotion to her family and her willingness to be a mother to more than just her own kids. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 26, 2016, at Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA. Concluding services and interment will follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will take place Monday, September 26, 2016, at the funeral home.
