Gloria was born on June 17, 1935, in rural Tripoli, the daughter of Arnold and Adella (Koch) Sell. She was raised in rural Tripoli, where she was baptized on July 7, 1935 and confirmed on March 21, 1948, at Grace Lutheran Church, and graduated from the Tripoli High School in 1952. Read More	Gloria Jane Bruns, age 84, of Tripoli, Iowa, died Thursday, November 28, 2019, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Waterloo, Iowa. Gloria was born on June 17, 1935, in rural Tripoli, the daughter of Arnold and Adella (Koch) Sell. She was raised in rural Tripoli, where she was baptized on July 7, 1935 and confirmed on March 21, 1948, at Grace Lutheran Church, and graduated from the Tripoli High School in 1952. Gloria then attended Gates Business School in Waterloo graduating in 1953. During her life she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1953-1955, at Tripoli Community Schools from 1969-1978, and Denver Community Schools from 1978 until retiring in 1997. Gloria was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a church secretary, sang in the choir, and she taught Sunday School for many years. Gloria’s greatest enjoyment in life was time spent with family and friends, where she could often be found attending her grandkids and great-grandkids school events. In her spare time she liked to read, bowl, walk, tie quilts, do word search puzzles, and loved Family Feud. Gloria’s memory is honored by: three children, Charlene (Jeff) Nihart of Ankeny, Iowa; Craig (Paula) Bruns of Sumner, Iowa; Charissa (Todd) Meyer of Mason City, Iowa; six grandchildren, Adam (Jordan Reece) Nihart, Aaron (Jayme) Nihart, Andrew (Megan) Bruns, Alicia (Richard) Endelman, Jeremy (Leslie Hunt) Bruns, and Alex (Kaylee Harp) Meyer; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Tyler Bruns and Jocelyn and Jordan Endelman; a brother, Allan (Peggy) Sell of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and nephews and families. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli with Pastor Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Tripoli. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family with arrangements
