Gloria Jean Minenga was the daughter of Carroll and Madelyn Hicks Minenga. She was raised in the Grinnell area and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1968. She attended Thompson School of Beauty in 1969 and was a beautician in Grinnell for many years. Gloria received her AA degree and AAS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Des Moines Area Community College 1983. She dedicated many years to Grinnell Regional Medical Center as a Medical Laboratory Technician, retiring in 2009. Gloria’s family was first and foremost. She always held a positive outlook on life and had an infectious laugh. Her enjoyments were crocheting, fishing, gambling at area casinos, reading, and watching her favorite television shows like Criminal Minds, Master Chef and Twilight Zone/Alfred Hitchcock. She always loved a good medical show, particularly Grey’s Anatomy, ER, Chicago Hope and most recently The Resident.
