She was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV and grew up in the area of Crossroads on Norwood Road. She attended Hite Saunders Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduated from Huntington East High School in 1945. In 1948, Gloria became the wife of Charles F. Baumgardner and they were the parents of three children. Gloria married a second time to James Paul Perkins. She went to work for the Huntington Publishing Co. around the mid 1960's and was the greeting voice to callers as the PBX Operator. She continued her occupation with the Herald-Dispatch until her retirement on 31 December 1991. Gloria passed into the loving arms of Jesus at her home on Lawson Ct., Huntington, WV surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
